Computer literacy for seniors

The course is for senior citizens aged 55 and above.

Computer literacy is an important skill to have in this day and age, but senior citizens are often overlooked when it comes to teaching computer literacy.

Unisa’s School of Computing will be presenting a free personal computer literacy class as part of their Computer Literacy for Communities (CLC) community engagement programme.

The course is for senior citizens aged 55 and above and will take place from the second week in March until the end of May 2016.

Only seven places are available for the first run of the course. Requirements for participants is home access to a personal computer running Windows 7 and being in a position to attend 12 three-hour weekly practical morning sessions at the Florida Unisa Science Campus.

The first practical session is on Thursday, 3 March from 9am to 12pm.

Further dates will be agreed upon.
