Update: Brother of Georginia shooting victim speaks out

Bail application on 22 February.

An emotional Tyron Sieber, brother of Dylan Vos, 43, who allegedly was shot dead by Morris Fred Henning, 66, father of his common-law wife, spoke to the Record.

Sieber said he was walking home from the video store he worked at when he saw the helicopter. He was not allowed access to the crime scene but Vos’ wife told him what had happened.

“According to her my brother – a father of four – came home from work and told her he was sick and tired of her father bad-mouthing them and talking rubbish,” said Sieber.

“The two of them went to my brother’s room where he continued to express his dismay. My brother then heard Henning saying something in his bedroom. He went to the room and asked him to repeat what he had said. Henning allegedly told him to get out or he would shoot him, to which he replied he should shoot him,” continued Sieber.

“Henning then allegedly produced a shotgun from a cupboard and shot my brother point blank in the stomach.

“There was not supposed to be ammunition in the house so I do not know where he got it from. If I were home he probably would have shot me too,” said Sieber.

“My brother was a real man,” he concluded.

The suspect’s lawyer told the Record  the bail application will take place on 22 February.

Yesterday the police told the Record the victim was Henning’s son-in-law, but Sieber confirmed he was Henning’s daughter’s common-law husband.
