The protein in frozen yoghurt will also help keep you fuller for longer than other snacks.

Grab yourself from Fro-Yo for these cool facts on 6 February.

Frozen yoghurt is a frozen dessert made with yoghurt and other dairy products, tasting more tart than ice cream and is lower in fat.

It comes in many flavours and may have certain health benefits like boosting the immune system, lowering cholesterol, helping the digestive system, preventing certain infections and containing certain nutrients like protein, calcium, vitamins, potassium and riboflavin.

The protein in frozen yoghurt will also help keep you fuller for longer than other snacks.

The term frozen yoghurt is unstandardized meaning there is no legal definition for the product, resulting in frozen yoghurt that sometimes contains healthy live cultures and some frozen yoghurt that does not. People have been consuming plain yoghurt for 4000 years with frozen yoghurt only being introduced in the 70s, where it did suprisingly poorly because people did not like the taste.

Frozen yoghurt comes in many varieties like low-fat, sugar free, non-dairy, vegan, vegetarian, low-calorie, kosher and gluten free.

So celebrate frozen yoghurt and have a sweet day.
