All emotions in one concert
Bastion's pupils jamming it up in style at their concert
From exploring themes such as bullying to puberty, Hoërskool Bastion’s grade 8 orientation concert entertained and educated the audiences.
Borrowing from Disney’s Inside Out, the concert was about Stella, a feisty grade 8 pupil who has a tough time at school.
Because she does not want to disappoint her parents, she bottles up her emotions until they come to the surface as people.
From fear, sadness, joy, disgust and anger, Stella faces her emotions and learns to deal with them.
Hilarity ensues and the audience is taken along with in the journey.
In the process Stella finds a safe haven in Bastion where the pupils are treated as family.
The concert was full of colour as the grade 8 pupils danced their hearts out in different outfits and tried their best to remember the steps to their dance routines.
The event was then followed by a year’s old school tradition of the principal capping of the new grade 8 pupils and officially presenting them.
