Bosmont boys to represent province

Talented baseball boys to represent their province at the national level.

16-year-old Naeem Hendricks and 11-year-old Ameer Seedat have been selected to represent Gauteng Cobras in the National Baseball Championship.

This is not the first time the two players have been chosen to play at national level.

This is the fourth time Hendricks has been chosen while Seedat will be making his second appearance in the event.

In the championship, Gauteng Cobras will be playing against other provinces such as East Gauteng, Eastern Province, Boland and Western Province.

“I am proud of myself for being chosen, it’s nice to know that my talent for the sport has been recognized. It means that the work I put into improving has bore fruit,” said Seedat.

For senior players such as Hendricks, the draw for participating in such a tournament is the possibility of catching the eye of an international scout.

They will be watching all the action from the stands looking for new talent.

“At this stage there is lots of pressure because you want to show off your talent so you can be scouted. It has taken immense dedication just to get to that stage so you want to make every opportunity count,” said Hendricks.
