Many of Klinkenberg Incorporated’s previous clients have contacted the Record to find out which avenues they can take to sort out their unresolved matters with the now defunct law firm.
According to Gert de Wet of Kaap-Vaal Trust, the liquidators appointed to the firm, they are in the process of investigating the firm’s financial status. An IT consultant is assisting them with the IT system and financial data on the firm’s system.

The liquidators were informed that the Law Society of the Northern Provinces has appointed LP Baartman Attorneys as agent for some of the client files. Clients can contact Ronelle Spies at LP Baartman to enquire about the files that fall within their mandate. Spies can be reached at ronelle@lpbaartman.co.za.
Clients wishing to prove claims in the liquidated entity can contact Leonie Strombeck at Kaap-Vaal’s office at leonie@kaapvaal.co.za to make arrangements to complete the required claim forms. Clients wishing to pay their accounts to the liquidated entity are requested to send an email to De Wet at gert@kaapvaal.co.za.
