Overnight water interruption in Roodepoort

ROODEPOORT – Joburg Water reports a major burst pipe at the corner of Christiaan de Wet and Erasmus roads.

Ruimsig, Struben’s Valley, Little Falls, Honeydew View, Wilgeheuwel, Amarosa, Aanwins, Harveston, Très Jolie, Zonnehoewe, Poortview and Willowbrook Estate will be affected by a water outage when Joburg Water fixes a major burst water pipe at Christiaan de Wet and Erasmus roads overnight.

It is scheduled from 8pm on 26 January to 6am on 27 January.

A statement from Joburg Water said that the water restoration will take place between 7am and 9am. It further said the water supply across the City of Joburg is normal, with reservoir levels across the City in a satisfactory position.

Residents are reminded that level two water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.

Level two water restrictions, according to section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaw states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:

• Not to water and irrigate their gardens from 6am and 6pm every day

• Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water

• Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars, paved areas, and similar activities.

Water saving tips:

• Don’t leave taps dripping

• Take shallow baths and

• Use bathwater or grey-water to water the garden.
