Beware of this vehicle

This Volvo is believed to have false number plates.

Gauteng Crime Intelligence Network (GCIN) has issued a warning to residents of Roodepoort and Krugersdorp.

A white Volvo was spotted at the scene where suspects had broken into a vehicle at the Curro School in Krugersdorp. Then it was connected to an incident in Roodekrans where a handbag and cellphone were stolen from a vehicle. Shortly afterwards the same suspects allegedly stole a laptop from another vehicle. When the Volvo in question was spotted in Noordheuwel a chase ensued but it managed to escape its pursuers in Witpoortjie.

The vehicle’s registration number is BJ 82 BK GP but in a photo that is being circulated it seems the number plate had been mounted onto another one.

The public should not approach the suspects but rather contact either the nearest police station or their local Community Policing Forum (CPF).
