Do your bit for the farmers

Water collection at the parking lot of Horizon Village in front of the old Keg this Saturday.

With more than 20 000 litres of water collected two weeks ago, the Round Table Florida 21 is once again hosting a water driver.

This is for the farmers and residents in the North West and Free State who are currently suffering through drought conditions.

The water collection will be at Horizon Village from 9am to 2pm on Saturday.

Roodepoort shows ubuntu in water collection

“We have contacted Operation Hydrate to assist us with transport to their main hub in City west JHB. From there they will distribute it to the various areas as last time we struggled with transportation,” said the organisation’s Joe Heckler.

This time the organization aims to collect 50 000 litres of water.

“Since our last drive, we have been inundated with calls from people asking when the next drop off will be. So we are confident we can collect more than we did,” said Heckler.

Anyone who wish to contribute to this worthy cause can call Joe Heckler on 076 188 3738 or vice chairman Gerhard van den Berg on 074 204 3484.
