17 injured as vehicle rolls

Taxi lost control and rolled several times.

17 people were injured in a collision that occurred earlier today on the corner of Hendrik Potgieter and Jim Fouché roads.

The collision involved only a taxi.

The taxi driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle while turning onto Jim Fouché Road and then rolled it several times.

ER24 paramedics responded to the scene and found that all the injuries that were sustained ranged from minor to moderate.

ER24 treated and transported nine patients to various hospitals including Discovery Clinic and Helen Joseph Hospital.

The remaining patients were treated and transported by other emergency medical services on scene.

The cause of the incident remains unknown and authorities were on the scene investigating.
