17 injured as taxi rolls into Jim Fouché Road

A taxi rolled several times, leaving 17 people injured on the corner of Herndrik Potgieter and Jim Fouché roads in Panorama, in the early hours of 19 January.

ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said that the taxi allegedly lost control while turning and rolled several times into Jim Fouché Road. ER24 responded to the accident and discovered that the passengers had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

“Nine patients were transported to different hospitals including Discovery Clinic and Helen Joseph Hospital. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other emergency medical services on the scene. The cause of the accident is still unknown, all local authorities were on the scene for further investigation,” said Rossouw.
