Big school has arrived for thousands of grade one pupils around Roodepoort today.
Today also marks the first day back at school for millions of other pupils around the country after a long festive holiday.
There were bright pearly smiles with a few front teeth missing and tear-stained cheeks with arms holding onto their parents legs.
Roodepoort Record Journalists visited a few schools to join in the chaotic rush and witness as excited pupils headed back to their classrooms.
Laerskool De la Rey welcomed three new teachers Chrizanne Kruger, Cherise Steyn and Jeanette Oberholzer.
Constantia Kloof Primary School had three new teachers Brandon De Souza, Elaine Maddi and Sarah Haylett. The school also welcomed it’s new acting deputy principal Sandy Jonker
