The first day of school is for many parents a sad but proud moment. This is the day that their little one’s education will determine and shape their future.
The youngsters were geared with a school bag, stationary and a lunchbox as they marched to the school hall for the first time. Some were elated to greet their parents at the gate who, in turn, left to go to work with a heavy heart.
Tristan Schoeman and Njabulo Zwane from Laerskool Generaal De La Rey already became friends.
Mom Helen Manyama with her daughter Galaletsang at Laerskool Roodebeeck. Galaletsang said she is happy to go to school for the first time.
