GALLERY AND VIDEO: Hats, bagpipes and goodbyes for Charterhouse
RADIOKOP – Charterhouse School welcomes parents and pupils to Grade 1.
From big to small, the excited Grade 1s were delighted to start at Charterhouse School on 13 January.
The day started with an assembly for the Grade 1s, where teachers explained a few rules and how happy they are to see them. Then the parents and the Grade 4 pupils were welcomed by a short walk, led by a bagpipe as they joined the senior primary.
Personal assistant to the principal, Gillian Houston said, “It is a good experience to see all of the happy faces. It is easier for the children because the school is combined – it is a quick progression for them.”
The parents enjoyed a tasty champagne breakfast under the trees after they said their final goodbyes and ‘I love yous’ to the Grade 1 pupils.
