The King’s School West Rand in Poortview welcomed a large number of Grade 1s on 13 January.
The school is a private Christian school which prides itself in education to the glory of God. The corridors of this school were full of nervous parents and eager pupils. Parents stood with their children outside their classes, waiting to meet teachers. Connor van der Merwe was very happy to show off his new school bag and said that he is very excited to be in Grade 1. Some children could not wait to leave their parents behind and ran into class – just giving a quick wave to mom and dad.
No tears were seen at this school, only big smiles and excitement from the pupils with a few nervous parents alongside them.
