GALLERY and VIDEO: Arrows of Destiny point new Grade 1s in the right direction
WELTEVREDEN PARK – 15 new Grade 1s make friends and memories on their first day of school.
Arrows of Destiny Christian Academy in Weltevreden Park welcomed 15 new Grade 1s on 13 January.
The pupils sat on the carpet and were very excited to meet their new teacher, Matshidiso Atanasiu. They were taught how to greet their teacher and learned how to pronounce her name. No tears were present for any of these 15 pupils, only excitement and a thumbs up. After meeting their teacher, the pupils were asked to take a seat at their special assigned “offices” or desks as Arrows of Destiny refers to it. Their names were on the desk in brightly coloured paper and the pupils looked proud to sit at their very own desk for the first time.
They were eager to start learning and use their stationery. It seemed like they were in school for much longer than a couple of minutes with big smiles and an eagerness to get to know each other as well as their teacher.
