Heat wave to be replaced by thunderstorms

Later today thunderstorms are predicted in Roodepoort.

Thunderstorms are expected to relieve residents of the heat wave of the past week over the weekend.

Later today thunderstorms are predicted in Roodepoort, while the temperature is expected to stay around 33ºC.

On Saturday 9 January scattered thunderstorms are predicted, with 56 per cent humidity and the wind blowing at 23 km/h. Temperatures will remain high at around 31ºC.

Sunday will be similar to Saturday, except the temperature will lower a notch to 28ºC.

For the week ahead, thunderstorms are predicted daily with temperatures between 23 and 27ºC.
