SPCA drained after drain rescue

This lucky kitten was rescued from a drain pipe.

The Roodepoort SPCA rescued a cute kitten yesterday afternoon.

It was trapped in a storm drain from last week Friday after SPCA officers struggled to get it out.

While the kitten was stuck in the storm drain, it was regularly fed to keep it alive.

However, after an unsuccessful weekend of trying to rescue it, Roodepoort SPCA manager Mandy Cattanach went out onto the scene and pulled out the kitten using a harness.

The kitten will now be dewormed and deflead.

“luckily it did not rain so the kitten is doing well,” said Cattanach.
