Identity kit of alleged Roodepoort rapist released

Rape occurred last week, man is armed.

Members of the Krugersdorp Cluster Police’s Family, Child and Sexual Offenses unit are urgently requesting information from the community that might lead to the arrest of an alleged rapist.

In a media statement from Krugersdorp Cluster Commander Major General Mateisi’s office, spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst said the man, suspected to be between the ages of 20 and 30, was described during the incident to have worn a dark denim jean, black T-shirt, white shoes and carrying a weapon.

He is wanted in connection with a rape case which allegedly occurred on Thursday 17 December and which was reported to the Muldersdrift Police late last week, she said.

He is possibly driving a white Fiat 500.

The man was described to the unit as having a light complexion, being about 1.7 metres tall and of medium build with black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on his left forearm. He is English-speaking.

Ernst cautioned that he is armed with a black pistol.
