Councillor Ingrid Reinten’s wish list

WARD 89 – One of Ward 89 Councillor Ingrid Reinten's wishes is to see the City of Joburg addressing IDP seriously.

Ward 89 Councillor Ingrid Reinten’s conveys her message for the festive season:

We had three roads tarred after much pressure on the regional depot but still there is one or two that require urgent attention such as 13th Avenue at Cliffview Primary School.

The safe street submissions have not been looked into by the City. Additionally, the parks and conservation areas issues have not been addressed.

Roads including maintenance, signage, road markings and congestion are the main issues which require attention from the Authorities. The parks and conservation areas which should provide recreation spaces are neglected and have become unsafe to use. Street lights – the reporting and the fixing of them remains a major problem.

My website, www.ward89.co.za, has numerous documents which provide information for residents. The City is often not aware of what is broken or needs to be fixed. The sooner we can inform them through various routes the quicker they can attend to the issues.

Reporting and receiving a reference number allows me a means of keeping the City accountable.

Residents can continue reporting and passing on the reference numbers to me and the ward committee. Residents can also become more involved in their local Community Policing Forums (CPF) and resident associations.

Projects to be completed by next year include: The Northcliff Ridge received a plan from the City about the valuable site which could add so much to the wellbeing of the residents.

I want the City to take the submissions through the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) seriously – firstly, by acknowledging the submission, secondly, to open serious participation processes which look at the needs of residents and make a commitment that each individual in the City has value and is taken seriously as an active citizen in this beautiful City we live in.
