“After the tragic passing of our sole and beloved director, Robert Klinkenberg we are sad to announce that Klinkenberg Incorporated has officially closed its doors as from 9 December after almost 20 years of dedicated service to our clients in the legal industry,” it reads.

Sources have repeatedly stated that suicide has not yet been confirmed as the cause of death and one telling paragraph states “We wish to state that Robert’s death and cause thereof is currently being investigated by the police. The investigation is ongoing and we have very little information ourselves to add at this time”.

It also explained the Law Society’s investigation.

“Sadly as a result of Robert’s death, the firm, our attorneys and its employees cannot continue to operate without him under the Klinkenberg Inc. name. As a result we have been left with no alternative, other than to close our doors. We wish to confirm that the Law Society of the Northern Provinces is personally attending to all pending Klinkenberg Inc. matters. They will, in due course, collect and/or handover all current client files of the firm to the respective clients and/or appropriate attorneys who will deal with these matters going forward and upon receipt of the required permission to do so. Unfortunately, no files may be handed over to any client and/or attorney prior to completion of this process and we will appreciate your patience in this regard. This is common procedure seeing as Robert was the only director of the firm” it explains.

The statement ended saying “As a final note, and although we personally find ourselves dealing with very sad and difficult circumstances at this time, we wish to still convey our wishes for a wonderful Christmas Season to everyone. May the New Year be blessed for all and may each one stand up out of this tragedy stronger and more appreciative of the gift of life and the special people we share it with”.
