Family and friends are invited to an evening filled with traditional Christmas carols hosted by In Christ Alone Ministries (ICAM) on Friday, 11 December.
The Carols by Candlelight, which will be an outdoor event, will take place at Florida Lake’s Moth Hall and will start at 7pm.
Attendants are asked to bring along a picnic dinner, camping chairs and candles as they will be entertained by the ICAM band.
“It will be a festive event for the whole family. In a world full of bad news, our aim is to spread some goodwill in the community,” said Alvin Montgomery, organiser of the event.
Although entrance to the event is free, an offering, which is not compulsory, will be taken up on the evening. The proceeds will be donated to Saviours Orphanage Home in Uganda. The home takes care of 34 abandoned children, some of who are HIV positive.
Alvin said his cousin, who is a missionary, traveled to Uganda and came across a resident who is struggling to care for the children financially. This resulted in them raising money for the past two years, to help the orphaned children.
The Carols by Candlelight will take place outside, however, if it rains or gets too cold, Alvin assured the venue will be moved inside the hall.
“We have an amazing traditional Christmas programme prepared and it is going to be so much fun.”
