Santa spotted early this year

Uncle Clause visits a local crêche with gifts three weeks before Christmas.

It seems Santa Clause started doing his rounds early this year, visiting Wilropark Kleuterskool three weeks before Christmas with gifts.

Last week, the beloved bearded and hooded man walked into the school’s dining hall with a bag of presents slung over his shoulder and ringing a bell in his hand.

Faces lit up as he entered the room. The children called for him and when he arrived, sang him beautiful Christmas carols, including Jingle Bells. Him being the caring, responsible adult in the room explained to them the difference between naughty and nice and how he chooses who gets presents. They sat in awe listening to him.

Finally the moment arrived where he read out names on gifts and the children ran up to him. Each paused for a photo with Santa. The children had a hard time waiting until everyone received their presents to open them, but wrapping paper went flying afterwards.

School principal and owner Marie Grobler said her husband, Hennie, had to wear the hood with his outfit so the children won’t identify him.
