Update: Klinkenberg Inc rumours quelled – for now

The firm had to be closed and it is alleged that a 120 employees now are without jobs.

Since the death of Klinkenberg Inc director Robert Klinkenberg, rumours have been rife and questions have been raised.

The most persistent rumour has been that R100 million has gone missing from the firm’s trust and that it is the reason for the investigation by the Law Society of the Northern Provinces.

The Record spoke to a source close to the firm who quelled this rumour. According to the source, who admitted to being aware of the rumour, the investigation is common procedure since Klinkenberg was the only director.

“The Law Society of the Northern Provinces has to establish numerous things, such as where the existing client files will go,” said the source.

The firm had to be closed and it is alleged that a 120 employees now are without jobs.
