All nine licensing stations closed

Emergency meeting held.

An emergency meeting was held late yesterday afternoon after all nine licensing stations in Johannesburg were closed when employees laid down tools.

According to the South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) workers are unhappy about the fact that positions have been advertised externally.

Samwu legal officer Jack Mokalapa said he believes the positions were advertise externally so management can employ people they know.

Meanwhile Roodepoort residents are advised to use Krugersdorp Licensing Station.
