Janet Reed, previously head girl of Kings School West Rand and a resident of Roodekrans, can now not only add the title of doctor to her name, but also the accolade of Best Performance Over the Six Year Medicine Degree Course.
Dr Janet was accepted directly into the medical degree at the University of Pretoria (UP) and was listed as one of the top 20 applicants in all fields of study at the university.
She excelled in every year of study, receiving top awards throughout her 6 year course. She graduated Cum Laude with 12 distinctions. Her distinctions were: Surgery, anaesthesiology, Urology, Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Community based education, Community Obstetric, Image forming Medicine, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Paediatrics.
Apart from these outstanding and exemplary achievements she also received the Best overall achievement in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
