Don’t take shelter for granted

Be grateful for what you have.

About 39 per cent of South Africa’s population is homeless.

That staggering statistic brings to mind how many people may take for granted the roofs they have over their head.

National Roof Over Your Head Day was created as a day to be thankful for what you have, starting with the roof over your head.

There are many people not only in the country, but in other parts of the world who do not have homes to sleep in and food to eat.

This day is all about remembering to always appreciate what you have.

Regardless of whether you rent or own the place you are staying in, today is an opportunity to take a moment to appreciate the roof over your head.
