Discovery carols by candlelight a roaring success

Community throws its weight behind event.

According to Avril Botha of Multi-Charity and Avril’s Doggy Parlour, the annual Carols by Candlelight was a huge success with more than 500 people in attendance.

Community stalls could be seen in Anstruther Street and the children had the freedom of the streets. There was a Father Christmas, hip hop dancers as well as line dancers to entertain the community. Although the weather took a turn for the worse Botha said she was amazed by how many residents took part in singing carols.

“We raised a handsome amount of money for the Multi-Charity and I have to thank the community for their exceptional participation in the event,” said Botha.
