Children of Claw treated by Ocean Basket

They were treated for the day.

About 75 children at Claw (Community Led Animal Welfare) were treated by staff members of Ocean Basket on Saturday, 21 November.

The children were treated to chocolate biscuits where they decorated them with different colours of ice-cream before they could eat it. They were also given pictures to colour in.

Claw provides veterinary health services to impoverished communities, as well as hosting weekend fun days for the children of Durban Deep.

“It was a lovely gesture and it was such a treat for the children,” said Cora Bailey, founder of Claw.

She added it was good to see the staff from Ocean Basket enjoy the day as much as the children did.

“This was an opportunity for us to interact with the youth in a small but meaningful way. This time of year it becomes all the more important to remember those less fortunate,” Jean Sloane from Ocean Basket said in a press statement.
