Searching for two teenage runaways

"No one is looking for my child," distressed mother said.

A 15-year-old girl and her 16-year-old friend were last seen in Roodepoort CBD near Goldwagen before they went missing.

Mother Tina Welman spoke to the Record and said she said goodnight to them at around 9pm last night in their home in Florida CBD.

This morning when the family awoke, the children were gone.

Welman is perturbed and alleged that Florida Police, to whom she’s reported the two missing teenagers, are not actively looking for them. She’s taken to facebook to spread their names and faces as far and wide as possible.

Karien Kruger, 15, was last seen wearing jeans, a white tracksuit hoody and dark blue Tommie Takkies. Welman is uncertain what Anathi Shushu, her 16-year-old friend, was wearing.

“Karien is a good girl and not into drugs or chasing after a boyfriend.

“It is not her nature to want to run away, she’s never been a difficult child,” Welman said.

It is suspected the two runaways might be heading for Snakepark, Dobsonville, Soweto.

Anyone who has any information can contact Welman on 082 898 6621 or the Florida Police on 011 831 7000.
