Hospital suspends services

ROSSMORE – Services are suspended at Helen Joseph Hospital to make way for scheduled maintenance.

Department of Health suspended services at Helen Joseph Hospital on 25 November. The services were suspended to make way for scheduled installation of a change-over switch for all the hospital’s generators.

The Department spokesperson Steve Mabona explained in a statement that they would be shut down at various areas including intensive care unit (ICU), theatre, renal unit, X-ray, mortuary and all lifts – between 6am to 3pm.

“During this this time the hospital will not be admitting any patients,” Mabona explained.

“They should instead visit their local clinics or present at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital or Leratong Hospital. Prior arrangements have been made with those facilitates,” he concluded.
