Maragon Grade7s leave behind a creative legacy

RUIMSIG – Maragon Private Schools Ruimsig Grade 7s donate a number of mosaic artworks to the school to bid their primary school career farewell.

Grade 7 pupils of Maragon Private Schools Ruimsig bid farewell to the school on 6 November by donating a number of mosaic art works to the school.

Marketing Coordinator Maravest Schools, Belinda Espag said the Grade 7 pupils aspired to always leave things better than the way they found it and due to this mind-set they have made this donation.

“In the spirit of kindness they engaged in a project representative of the modern art movements that is part of the curriculum for creative arts,” said Espag.

She explained the learners donated thousands of mosaic tiles that were pasted onto concrete furniture to create artworks based on works of Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Klee ,Keith Haring and Roy Lichtenstein.

“The mosaic art was handed over to the school as a hand-made gift from the group at their final assembly,” said Espag.

She concluded by saying the school is grateful for the art works they have received and very proud of it.
