Africa’s biggest comedy festival coming to the West Rand

Get ready to laugh.

Africa’s biggest comedy festival, The Comedy Central International Comedy Festival will now encompass 19 comedy gigs over 6 days with more than 60 comedians across multiple venues at Silverstar Casino.

This comes after Comedy Central added another date for the Trevor Noah NationWild Gala as demand for tickets escalated.

Head of Comedy Central Africa Evert van der Veer said demand for tickets to Trevor’s upcoming gigs has been overwhelming.

“Everyone wants to see South Africa’s own global comedy star make his first appearances on his home patch since taking over the The Daily Show. In response to the overwhelming public demand, Trevor Noah’s NationWild Gala will now take place on 25, 26, 27 and 28 November, with the Festival extending from 25 November to 5 December,” he said.

Other comedians on the bill at the festival include Aries Spears, Basketmouth, Kurt Schoonraad, Casper de Vries, Celeste Ntuli, Chris Forrest, Darren “Whackhead’ Simpson, David Kau, Deep Fried Man, Eugene Khoza, Goliath and Goliath, Jeff Ross, John Vlismas, Marc Lottering, Mpho Popps, Robby Collins, Richelieu Beaunoir, Salvado, Schalk Bezuidenhout and Trevor Gumbi.

Tickets for The Comedy Central International Comedy Festival are on sale now at Computicket from priced from R120 to R650.
