First Beyers Naudé Memorial Lecture held

Laerskool Josua Naudé hosted the first Beyers Naudé Memorial Lecture this past Thursday.
The keynote speaker who delivered the lecture on the man fondly known as Oom Bey, was Professor André Bartlett of the theological Faculty of University of Pretoria and former Pastor of the Dutch Reformed Congregation Aasvoëlkop. Bartlett painted a moving picture, often with humour, of the struggle hero who was demonised by his own people but later in the New South Africa vindicated.
His lecture was followed by responses from the ANC Deputy General Secretary Jessi Duarte as well as Johan Naudé who spoke on behalf of the Naudé family.
