Most details still sketchy.

Democratic Alliance (DA) Public Relations (PR) Councillor Jackie Matladi has handed her resignation in after a minor scandal.

About a month ago allegations started surfacing Matladi was occupying a rental home illegally for seven months. Her accuser, Natasha Taljaard who is the daughter of the elderly owners alleged Matladi stopped paying occupational rent after saying she secured the bond to buy the house. Matladi in turn blamed the bond agency for not paying the money to the Taljaards.

On Tuesday the Record received a short to the point message from DA Member of Parliament and DA Representative for Roodepoort, Anchen Dreyer reading “After her disciplinary hearing Jackie Matladi has resigned and is no longer a DA Councillor”.

Dreyer was about to board an airplane when the Record contacted her to elaborate, but she indicated she would give extra comment later.
