Drug dealers in Bantam bakkie nabbed

Information from public lead to successful drug bust.

Around 150 brown plastic bags containing a white substance suspected to be drugs were found in a Bantam bakkie last week.

“Police received information from members of the public about the sale of drugs by two suspects that were travelling in a white Bantam bakkie with registration numbers and followed up on the lead,” Florida Police spokesperson Mpho More said.

Florida Police were busy patrolling along Hebbard Street at around 11am on Wednesday 4 November when they received the information.

The bakkie was found stationary and they requested to conduct a search. The driver, 33, was found in possession of the suspected drugs. He was subsequently arrested and detained at Roodepoort Police Station for dealing in drugs. He appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court soon thereafter.
