Soccer mad Maragon teacher climbs the ladder

The tournament is used as a base for development for both players and refereeing officials.

Shaun Olive is not just a beloved teacher at Maragon Private School, but also a budding soccer referee.

On the 31 August  was invited to run a provincial category one fitness test which comprises of six 40m sprints that need to be completed in a time of less than 6 seconds with a 90 second recovery between each sprint.

The endurance part of the test comprises of 150m sprint completed in 30 seconds and 50m recovery walk in 40 seconds. The test itself is based around a 400m athletics track.

In passing the fitness test, having a level five and being under the age of 25 he has completed all the necessary tasks and ticked all the necessary boxes in order to be promoted to the PSL Reserve League.

Subsequently he is currently involved in the Multichoice Super-Diski Challenge tournament. This incorporates all the Premier Soccer League academy teams and players that are on their way up and just about to make the break through into their respective first team squads.
