Photos: Young man critical after bike accident

A young man had to be airlifted after he collided on his motorcycle with another vehicle.

The accident took place at around 3.45pm on CR Swart Road. According to Ivan Shaw of DMS Security who was on the scene, an eyewitness said the motorcyclist, believed to be in his early twenties, was travelling down CR Swart Road from Ontdekkers Road when he collided into a woman in her vehicle who turned  into the Pick n Pay parking lot. The woman claimed “she did not see” him.

ER24 had to airlift the young man who sustained serious head injuries and broke both his arms and his leg. He was taken to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital.

The road was closed for 40 minutes.
