Nine areas without power next Thursday
Essential maintenance work to be done to the grid, given illegal connections in the area.
At least nine areas in Roodepoort will be without power next Thursday night (12 November) while City Power does essential maintenance work.
City Power made a public announcement that electricity will not be available to residents from 10pm on Thursday night til 6am on Friday morning 13 November.
The interruption is to affect residents of Grobler Park, Lindhaven, Manufacta, Princess and Princess AH, Reefhaven, Roodepoort and Roodepoort West and Technikon.
“The power interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance work on our network, which is part of our programme to constantly strive to provide better service to our customers,” the entity in a press release said.
“City Power regrets any inconvenience that may be caused by these interruptions.”
Supply may be restored at any time during the planned outage so residents are urged to treat electricity supply points as live at all times.
