Tricked or treated in Discovery

Children enjoyed Halloween, visiting their neighbours for sweets.

Thanks to the Discovery Community Forum (DCF) and various other roleplayers children in Discovery and surrounds could trick or treat to celebrate Halloween.

On Saturday they headed out, made up, some of whose parents also went to the effort of dressing up, and visited neighbours’ houses to find ghoulish prizes or foul tricks. People in the neighbourhood volunteered their houses and some went to immense trouble to decorate their settings. Some walked with plastic bags and other had little carved-pumpkin plastic buckets to keep their candy.

Instead of physically walking through the large neighbourhood to select houses, the DCF organised a fleet of patrol, police, security and private vehicles and patrollers acted as pointsmen for traffic they passed through. Some children had great joy in riding along in the back of Florida Police vehicles.

Another highlight was stopping by at Ansfrére Shopping Centre, where a video shop’s staff treated the children to more candy.
