Sanral’s 60 per cent discount

JOBURG – Sanral calls on road users to take advantage of its 60 per cent discount.

There will be a once-off discount to all unpaid e-toll bills charged between 3 December last year up to and including 31 August this year.

The South African National Road Agency (SANRAL) said that road users have only six months to settle their accounts or make payment arrangements.

This was announced by Sanral on 1 November as part of the second phase implementation of the new e-toll dispensation.

Chief Operating Officer of the Electronic Tolling Company (ETC) Mark Ridgway said, “As the operator of the system, we have a dedicated task team in place to deal with this ring-fenced operation.”

He said the high levels of activity and response are expected over the next few days and as such they would ask for patience in this regard.

“Any road users who find it difficult to reach the task team call centre should please make use of the website www.less60.co.za or SMS service to ascertain their discounted balance,” said Ridgway.

“Should you wish to take advantage of this discount, you can call our the dedicated call centre on toll free number 087 353 1490 or send an SMS to 433 60.”

He said road users must have both ID number and vehicle licence number to find out how much they owe.

Ridgway said all SMSs should read as follows: ID*vehicle registration number eg 8001011234567*BB00BB-GP.

“However, should customers not have a VPC account, a vehicle no longer linked to their ID, or if they incorrectly enter their details, a non validated response will be shown,” said Ridgway.

Road users can also pay over the counter at all First National Bank branches, at any FNB ATM, via the internet or EFT, and by credit card on the website.
