Those who know Luitenant-Colonel André Laing of Roodepoort Police Station would say he is one of the last of ‘the good guys’, and now he has been accordingly honoured.
A 39-year veteran of the service, he came to Roodepoort Police Station six years ago from Florida Police Station and at this year’s prestige awards received two of the highest accolades. At the Honeydew Cluster Awards he was named Vispol (Visible Policing) Employee of the Year and then at the provincial prestige awards he was named Vispol Employee of the Year First Runner Up.
