The Rand’s good performance against the US dollar is the main reason for a drop in all fuel prices this coming Wednesday, announced the Department of Energy on Saturday.
A general drop in the prices of petroleum products have also contributed to the relief as motorists go into the festive season.
Petrol will drop by 22c, diesel by 9c, illuminating paraffin by 3c and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by 47c/kg.
The Department of Energy has urged motorists and households to still use energy sparingly.
