GALLERY: Water polo for the win

RANDPARK RIDGE – Rand Park High School boys first team soak their competition in success.

The Water Polo derby between Krugersdorp High School (KHS) and Rand Park High School (RPHS) was a splashing success at Rand Park High School on 23 October.

The competition was high and tough between both schools.

RPHS water polo boys’ first team, came in 10th place at the National Co-Ed Water Polo tournament held in October at Thomas More College in Durban, while the girl’s team placing 11th overall.

With this in mind the tension at the pool was high.

KHS put up a strong defence against RPHS.

The home team junior girls lost 4–1 with the junior boys winning by 4–3.

The second team RPHS boy’s team steamed a great win by scoring 10–1 against Krugersdorp.

The senior girl’s team consisting of second team players fought hard for the win but lost against Krugersdorp by 16–0.

Talent shone through with fast balls and quick defence with RPHS boy’s first team easing into a win against Krugersdorp with 10–2.

RPHS Marketing, public relations and communications officer Heather Robinson said, “These games are something we are very proud of as encouragement, sportsmanship and school spirit is something that has become synonymous with Rand Park High.”
