Maragon’s U/13 girl’s hockey team came fifth in the Best of the Best playoff tournament that was held in Randburg last month 26 September.
The tournament was divided into two categories where they competed against winners of the Small Schools League and the winners of the English Schools League respectively.
Their victory in the Best of the Best tournament enabled them to represent the province at the Champ of the Champs tournament that was held in Potchefstroom on 2 and 3 October.
About 10 of the leading hockey school teams in various provinces attended this tournament and Maragon participated in pool A.
Overall they won and lost two games each.
“These young girls have had a very hard season, but proved themselves through their commitment and dedication,” said their coach, Mrs O’Brien in a press statement.
