On 16 October Maragon Private Schools held their annual Soapbox Derby at their primary school.
Advtech marketing manager Belinda Espag said the different grades were dressed according to different themes.
“Superheroes, clowns, springboks, minions, mime artists, unicorns and cows were some of the themes class pupils were dressed as,”said Espag.
She added that the children were excited and could barely wait for the race to begin.
“There were capes billowing in the wind and a kaleidoscope of motley characters sprinting around the track to tunes from Rachel Platten and Kelly Clarkson,” explained Espag.
A number of teachers were also involved and were pushing the soapboxes themselves.
“Some classes were so effective they managed over 60 laps in the allocated 30 minutes they had,” said Espag
