Photos: Man rolls car down embankment

Was allegedly speeding.

A man miraculously survived an accident last night just past 7pm after he rolled his car down an embankment and ended up in a tree.

It is speculated that the man was speeding, according to Wouter Steyn of A1 Assist, more than 100km/h in the 60km/h zone, and did not managed the stop at the T-junction of CR Swart and Doreen Roads. Coming from the CR Swart side he went right across the stop street and through the barrier. He rolled his vehicle which was stopped by a small tree.

The man the mysteriously fled the scene and was found by emergency services at a take-away shop at the intersection of Ouklip and CR Swart Roads. It is unclear whether he was under the influence.

The accident is the subject of investigation by the relevant authorities.
