Dog abused case postponed

The trial will commence on 26 October.

The case where the Greyhound dog was severely beaten was postponed to 26 October.

The 63-year-old man who allegedly beat his Greyhound dog to the extent that the dog had to be euthanased, appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s court on charges of animal abuse.

No reason was given for the postponement of the trial.

He initially pleaded guilty to all charges, but on 30 September decided to change his initial guilty plea which resulted in his legal representative choosing to withdraw from the case.

It has been said the accused showed no remorse when he appeared in court.
