Be part of the Blue Bucket campaign

Fill your blue buckets with non-perishable foods and give them to a family in need.

Dorcas Aid is promoting their annual Blue Bucket Campaign that will be distributed to the poorest of communities and are also distributed in cases of disasters and incidents as a form of relief.

This campaign, according to Nerine Niemand from Dorcas Aid, is a simple and a very effective way for companies, churches and individuals to get involved with the poor.

“Many people often asked the question “Why a bucket?” it’s simple. A bucket can be used for so much more than just water, it can also serve as a dry and safe storage facility for food or important documents,” said Nerine.

Those who will be collecting these buckets need to fill them with ingredients from the list provided. When the bucket is filled, contact Dorcas Aid and arrange for it to be collected or delivered. Dorcas will then add a Bible and some Christian Literature into it.

If a company manages to fill more than 50 buckets, Dorcas Aid will arrange an outreach to the community where they invite the personnel of the company to assist with the outreach.

The buckets will be delivered to residents across Roodepoort.
