Photos: Man lays into suspect with knobkierrie

Suspect's foot severely cut.

Two criminals’ career came to an abrupt end yesterday when during their attempt to flee a homeowner caught up with one of them and laid into him with a knobkierrie.

A man and his wife were surprised when they returned home after shopping at about 10am to find two suspects busy ransacking their house. The two suspects had already neatly lined up television sets and other valuables in order to remove them. The two suspects attempted to flee, but one tripped and fell and when he tried to scale the razor wire fence got tangled and ended up with serious gashes on his foot. According to Marcell Jonker of Dowry Security, who along with Apcan and DMS assisted the police, the homeowner caught up with the suspect and beat him with the knobkierie but he still managed to flee.
Dowry Security and the police caught the bleeding suspect on Wilgerood Road and the second suspect was caught on Ruhama Road.
